Swirl Brushes
Before you start making swirly brushes, you need some swirly fonts. Download
and install these fonts on your computer. To
install fonts, you will need to refer to your computer's help section, or user
manual, but if you are really confused, drop the fonts in the "Base"
folder so the font's will at least work in Adobe Photoshop. The path to the
base folder is usually:
C:\ > Program Files > Common Files > Adobe > Fonts > Reqrd > Base
In Photoshop start a new document with these settings:
500 Wide
500 Height
72 Resolution
RGB
White Background
Click the type tool , and set the options to the following:
In the canvas, make a capital "B". (Any letter really, but I'm using a B.
Now click Ctrl + t to transform the layer. You can rotate it, and resize it.
On mine, I canged the Width to 152.4%, the Height to 147.9%, and rotated it 128.5 (in the options palette).
Double Click when you are done.
With the move tool , drag it off to a corner or edge so you can't tell that it's a "B".
Define the brush (edit > define brush) and there you are!
You can use multible letters on different layers to make extra swirly brushes, and you can also mis-match fonts.
